Patio prices depend on the size, the paving you choose and how much groundwork is needed. Concrete slabs are the most economical, Indian sandstone sits in the middle, and porcelain, limestone and granite are at the premium end. We give every customer a free survey and a written, no-obligation quote. Call 01752 916155 to arrange yours.
Plymouth gets plenty of rain, so a frost-resistant, low-porosity surface with good drainage falls is important. Porcelain is the most weather-resistant and stays cleanest. Indian sandstone performs well when sealed. Whatever you choose, the sub-base and drainage falls we build underneath matter more than the slab on top.
A typical garden patio in Plymouth takes two to five days, including excavation, sub-base, laying and pointing. Larger patios, steps or retaining walls add time. We will give you a realistic timescale with your quote.
Rear garden patios do not normally need planning permission. Exceptions include listed buildings, conservation areas and raised patios more than 30cm above ground level. We will flag anything that applies to your property when we visit.
Yes. We lift and remove existing slabs, rebuild the sub-base and lay the new patio with correct falls so water drains away from the house. Sunken or uneven patios are almost always a base problem, which is why we never lay straight over a failing surface.
